Your Privacy is Important to Us

GoEducate's mission is to fundamentally transform the way students, adult learners, and professionals make education, training, and career-focused decisions by connecting the dots between learning pathways, in-demand skills, and real-world employment opportunities. Protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices is integral to that mission. This Privacy Policy outlines how GoEducate Inc. (“GoEducate,” “we,” or “us”) collects, uses, and discloses personal information when you interact with our platform and services, whether as a student, job seeker, employer, or educational institution.

Scope and Acceptance

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) application at https://www.goeducate.com, including related subdomains, tools, and services (collectively, the “App”). U.S.-Only Service: GoEducate's services are intended solely for users located within the United States. We do not market our platform internationally and disclaim liability for any use, access, or data collection occurring outside the U.S. Users accessing GoEducate from outside the United States do so at their own risk and are solely responsible for compliance with local laws and regulations.

If changes to this policy are made, users will be notified by updating the effective date and providing additional notice where appropriate. Continued use of the App signifies acceptance of the revised policy.

  • Sensitive Data: Where permitted by law, you may choose to provide sensitive information, such as race, ethnicity, or disability status, for diversity and inclusion initiatives or research. By providing sensitive information, you explicitly consent to its processing in accordance with applicable legal protections and privacy safeguards. This data is handled with additional care, as outlined below.

Users are responsible for ensuring that the personal information they provide to GoEducate is accurate, complete, and up-to-date. GoEducate disclaims liability for any issues, delays, or impacts arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information submitted by users.

  • Usage Data: Pages visited, clicks, interaction with App features, session duration, and response times.
  • Location Information: With your consent, we may collect or infer your general geographic location based on your IP address.
1.3 Information Collected from Third Parties

We may receive information from third-party sources, such as educational institutions, employers, and workforce development agencies, when you interact with them via our platform. This may include information related to your enrollment, employment history, or skill assessments.

2. How We Use Your Information

GoEducate processes personal information for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Improve Services: Facilitating career pathways by matching users with educational and employment opportunities tailored to their profiles.
  • Personalization: Offering customized content, career recommendations, and relevant learning resources based on profile data and preferences.

Additionally, GoEducate may share specific user data with trusted partners, including educational institutions, workforce agencies, and industry groups, to enhance educational and career-focused opportunities. This collaboration aims to provide users with better-aligned training, job prospects, and support systems, furthering GoEducate's mission of connecting individuals with pathways suited to their aspirations.

We may also aggregate and anonymize personal information to generate insights for research, reporting, and industry analysis, ensuring that individuals cannot be identified.

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

GoEducate respects your privacy and will only share your data under the following circumstances:

3.1 With Educational and Employment Partners

To help users connect with potential educational programs and job opportunities, we may share profile data with educational institutions, employers, and workforce agencies, such as programs saved, enrollment, and other related educational and workforce data. Data sharing is strictly controlled and aligns with our mission to support users in their career development.

3.2 Service Providers

We work with third-party service providers to perform specific business functions, such as hosting, data storage, analytics, customer support, and payment processing. These providers are required to protect personal information and may not use it for any purposes other than to assist GoEducate.

3.3 Legal Compliance and Protection

We may disclose information when required by law, such as in response to court orders, subpoenas, or other lawful requests by public authorities. We may also share information to protect the rights, safety, and property of GoEducate, its users, or others.

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or other corporate transaction, your data may be transferred to the new entity. We will ensure that any acquiring entity continues to protect your information consistent with this policy.

3.5 Talent Hub Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

By publishing their GoResume/Profile on the GoEducate “Talent Hub” or “Talent Exchange,” users expressly acknowledge and agree that all interactions, communications, and outcomes resulting from third-party contact, including but not limited to employers, educational institutions, and workforce partners, are undertaken at their own discretion and risk. GoEducate does not vet, endorse, or guarantee the credibility, intent, or actions of any third party. Users assume full responsibility for verifying the legitimacy and authenticity of any communication, opportunity, or entity they engage with. Users agree to indemnify and hold GoEducate harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from interactions, communications, or disputes with employers or third parties.

GoEducate disclaims all liability for disputes, unsolicited outreach, misrepresentation, misconduct, or any harm, direct or indirect, arising from interactions facilitated by the platform. Users are advised to exercise caution and due diligence when engaging with employers or third parties and to independently assess the credibility of any opportunities presented. GoEducate assumes no obligation to mediate disputes or provide recourse beyond restricting platform access for verified violations of our policies.

All opportunities for employment, internships, apprenticeships, and similar roles are offered solely at the discretion of the respective employer or organization. GoEducate's role is exclusively that of a neutral facilitator providing the technological platform; we do not vet, endorse, or guarantee any postings or offers.

In the event of any inappropriate or abusive behavior by an employer, users may submit a complaint to GoEducate through our reporting mechanism here [report abuse link]. We will assess such complaints and, if appropriate, take corrective actions, including restricting or terminating the offending party's platform access. However, GoEducate disclaims liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from interactions on the platform, and assumes no responsibility beyond providing a space for the publication of resumes and connection with potential opportunities.

3.6 GoResume. Profile Visibility, and Employer Access Disclaimer

By publishing a GoResume on the GoEducate platform, users expressly consent to making their GoResume and associated profile information accessible to verified employers and organizations for career, internship, and apprenticeship opportunities. Publishing a GoResume inherently includes publishing the user's profile, which may contain, but is not limited to, the professional summary, education, work history, transcripts, skills, and other voluntarily provided details.

GoResumes also include users' email addresses, and optionally, phone numbers, physical addresses, and other sensitive information that users voluntarily provide. Users are strongly encouraged to carefully review and update their GoResume and profile content for accuracy, relevance, and appropriateness before publishing. Including a physical address is not required and should only be added at the user's discretion.

GoResume and profile visibility is strictly limited to registered employers and organizations within GoEducate's ecosystem. This information is not accessible to other users or the general public. Employers may use the information provided, including phone numbers or email addresses, to contact users regarding opportunities. By publishing their GoResume, users acknowledge that GoEducate assumes no responsibility or liability for employer interactions, decisions, or actions arising from the data shared. Users agree to indemnify and hold GoEducate harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from employer interactions, decisions, or actions based on the data voluntarily provided in their GoResume or profile.

Opt-Out Mechanism:

Users can control the visibility of their GoResume and profile within the Employer Talent Hub by adjusting their Profile Setting:

  • Employers Can Find You: Enables employers to discover your profile and contact you regarding job opportunities, internships, and apprenticeships.
  • Employers Can't Find You: Hides your profile from the Employer Talent Hub, ensuring that employers cannot view your profile or contact you.

When users select "Employers Can't Find You," their GoResume and associated profile will no longer be visible to employers in the Talent Hub. Users retain full control over this setting and can update their preference at any time.

Limits on Liability: While GoEducate will make reasonable efforts to ensure the removal of profile data from the Talent Hub if opted-out, we cannot guarantee the removal of data already accessed, stored, or used by third-party partners prior to the opt-out request.

Users agree to indemnify and hold GoEducate harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from employer interactions, decisions, or actions based on the data voluntarily provided in their GoResume or profile.

3.7 GoResume User Responsibility and Hold Harmless Acknowledgment

Users are solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy, relevance, and professionalism of the information included in their GoResume and associated profile. By choosing to publish their GoResume, users agree that all engagements, inquiries, or opportunities resulting from employer access to their data are based solely on the information they have provided.

GoEducate functions exclusively as a neutral platform provider and disclaims all liability for third-party actions, including misuse, unauthorized access, or improper handling of shared data by employers or other verified entities.

Furthermore, users agree to indemnify and hold GoEducate harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from the publication of their GoResume or subsequent interactions with employers or organizations. This includes, but is not limited to, disputes stemming from unapproved or inappropriate conduct by employers or third-party entities accessing their published data.

4. Data Security and Retention

4.1 Data Security Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

GoEducate is committed to maintaining high standards of data security. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information. However, no online platform can guarantee complete security, and despite our efforts, unauthorized access, hacking, data loss, or other breaches may occur.

By using our App, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You are voluntarily providing personal information at your own risk.
  • GoEducate cannot be held liable for unauthorized access or use of your data resulting from causes beyond our reasonable control, including third-party attacks or data breaches that may arise despite our security efforts.
  • While we take reasonable steps to secure your information, you accept the inherent risks associated with transmitting and storing data online.

In the unlikely event of a data breach, GoEducate will promptly notify affected users as required by law and take appropriate steps to protect user data in the event of a breach.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, users agree to hold GoEducate harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities arising from data breaches, unauthorized access, or any other security incidents beyond GoEducate's reasonable control. By using our App, you waive the right to pursue any legal action against GoEducate related to these incidents.

4.2 Data Retention

GoEducate retains personal information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Data that is no longer needed is securely deleted or anonymized.

4.3 Sensitive Data

We treat sensitive data (e.g., race, ethnicity, disability status) with heightened security and privacy. Such information is collected and processed only with explicit consent, and its use is restricted to diversity and inclusion initiatives or legal compliance purposes, ensuring full adherence to applicable data protection laws. Users may withdraw consent for sensitive data processing at any time by contacting us.

5. Data Sharing Policies

5.1 Historical Data Sharing and Retroactive Consent

Users who participated in GoSurvey prior to the effective date of this updated Privacy Policy acknowledge that their data—including name, email address, and survey results—may have been shared with GoEducate's partners under the terms in effect at the time of survey completion. Such sharing supported GoEducate's mission to improve platform offerings and connect users with educational and workforce opportunities.

Retroactive Sharing:

Users retain the right to request cessation of data sharing and deletion of previously shared data by contacting privacy@goeducate.com.

  • Timeline for Processing Requests: Requests will be reviewed and processed within 30 days of receipt.

5.3 Opt-Out for Existing Users:

Users retain the right to request cessation of data sharing by contacting privacy@goeducate.com.

  • Timeline for Processing Requests: Requests will be reviewed and processed within 30 days of receipt.

6.2 Data Portability and Deletion

Where applicable, you may request a copy of your data in a portable format or ask us to delete your personal information. Data that is no longer needed is securely deleted or anonymized.

6.3 Opt-Out and Consent Withdrawal

You can opt-out of non-essential data processing or withdraw consent where applicable. You may also opt-out of receiving marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions in emails or contacting us directly at privacy@goeducate.com.

7. Children's Privacy

7.1 Intended Audience and Compliance

GoEducate's services are designed for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect, use, or share personal information from children under the age of 13 without verified parental or institutional consent, in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and other applicable laws. Users aged 13 to 17 may only use our services with verified parental or guardian consent. By signing up, users affirm they have such consent. If we have reason to believe consent was not granted or the user misrepresented their age, we reserve the right to verify the user's age and parental consent through additional documentation.

Data Collection for Users Under 13

Unauthorized use by children under 13 without verified consent is a violation of this Privacy Policy, and GoEducate disclaims liability for any associated data collection or misuse resulting from non-compliance. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13 without verified parental or institutional consent, we will:

1. Immediately delete the information.
2. Suspend or terminate the associated account.
3. Notify the parent, guardian, or institution, as applicable.

For children under 13 with verified parental or institutional consent to use GoEducate for educational purposes, we process their data solely for such purposes and take appropriate measures, such as data encryption and access controls, to secure their personal information in compliance with COPPA.

7.2 Parental and Institutional Responsibilities

While GoEducate implements measures to safeguard user data and comply with COPPA, parents, guardians, and institutions remain responsible for monitoring and restricting platform use by children under 13. GoEducate does not currently offer automated features to disable specific functionality, such as the Talent Hub, based on age restrictions. Therefore, parents, guardians, and institutions must:

  1. Ensure Educational Use Only: Monitor and manage children's use of the platform to ensure it is strictly for educational purposes and does not include publishing data to the Talent Hub.
  2. Provide and Verify Consent: Verify consent explicitly for data collection and processing before allowing children under 13 to access the platform.
  3. Communicate Restrictions: Notify GoEducate of any age-related restrictions, such as opting out of data sharing for features like GoSurvey, by contacting us at privacy@goeducate.com

Parents, guardians, or institutions are required to respond to GoEducate inquiries regarding age-related restrictions or consent within 14 days.

Parents, guardians, or institutions agree to indemnify and hold GoEducate harmless from any claims, damages, or liabilities resulting from unauthorized use of the platform by children under 13, failure to communicate age-related restrictions, or non-compliance with this Privacy Policy.

7.3 Data Handling and Security for Underage Users
  1. Limited Data Use: Data collected from users under 13 with verified consent will only be used to provide educational services or improve platform functionality.
  2. No Talent Hub Sharing: Children's data will not be published to the Talent Hub unless explicitly authorized by their parent, guardian, or institution for specific purposes.
  3. Retention Policy: Personal information for users under 13 will only be retained for as long as necessary to fulfill educational purposes or comply with legal obligations. Upon request, we will delete such data.

Opt-Out and Request Process

Parents, guardians, or institutions may:

  1. Request cessation of data sharing for children under 13.
  2. Request deletion of a child's personal information at any time.
  3. Verify or revoke consent previously granted.

Requests can be made by contacting us at privacy@goeducate.com. All requests will be processed within 30 days of receipt. GoEducate will provide confirmation of the request's completion. While GoEducate will cease sharing data upon opt-out requests, we cannot guarantee the removal of data already accessed or stored by authorized third-party partners before such requests are received.

7.4 Future Safeguards

GoEducate is actively working to enhance platform functionality to automatically identify and safeguard underage users' data more efficiently. Updates will be reflected in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use as they become available.

While GoEducate makes reasonable efforts to enforce safeguards and comply with COPPA, we disclaim liability for:

  1. Data already shared with authorized third parties based on prior verified consent.
  2. Misuse or unauthorized access by parents, guardians, institutions, or third-party partners.
